DALWAQT
QUEER FAMILY WORKSHOP
Calling all Queer Families in Malta & Gozo
Date: 29th August 2026
Time: 5:30pm - 8:00pm
Venue: Aġenzija Żgħażagħ, St Joseph High St, Santa Venera, Malta
Saydon Studio and MGRM invite LGBTQI+ families for a one-of-a-kind interactive workshop for queer parents/guardians and their children.
The Day
From storytelling activities to family bonding games and artistic crafts, we'll spend the day creating together — with space for grown-ups to talk with us while children get busy making things.
Our stories, our creativity, our imagination will help shape an important piece of theatre about queer families in Malta.
Who can join?
The day is catered for families with children. The target age of our family activities will be for 5-10 year olds. Older or younger kids are so more than welcome to join, but maybe keep in mind that activities might feel too advanced/too childish for young people outside the bracket.
If you are a queer parent or parent of a queer person - you are still encouraged to join us (whether you bring your young ones along or not).
Most importantly, in the lead up to Malta Pride, it is a beautiful opportunity to bring ALL queer families together and celebrate Family Pride together.
The workshop is led by Luke Saydon and co-produced with MGRM.
This project is supported by Arts Council Malta.

OPEN CALL
Internship for Young Producers
Saydon Studio is opening a call for two aspiring theatre producers between 18 and 25 years old.
Two young producers will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through structured internships focused specifically on the craft of producing. This unique opportunity will offer young producers the chance to be part of an R&D for a new musical, receive mentorship and shadow a creative studio. Aimed particularly at underrepresented young people, the programme will nurture leadership, strategic thinking, collaboration, and entrepreneurial skills, fostering a new generation of skilful theatre producers.
This project is supported by Arts Council Malta.
Deadline: 17th August 2026 12:00pm
