22nd SEPTEMBER 2024 // 8PM

VENUE: StoreRoom, Ta' Xbiex
DATE: 27/08 and 22/09
TIME: 8pm / Doors open at 7pm

Join us for a one-off KOR KWIR session as we return to our beloved home in StoreRoom, Ta' Xbiex. Under the musical direction of Luke Saydon, KOR KWIR is a unique, safe space where everyone is welcome, regardless of their singing experience. No auditions, no experience needed, and no commitment. And anyone can join.

There are no tickets for this event, but we kindly welcome pay-what-you-can donations to support our cause.

Let's dance, let's sing, and let's celebrate our pride together.

SONGS: We will be revisiting some of our summer repertoire for the fun of it, but we will all be learning a brand new arrangement that might be (just slightly) Christmas themed.

LYRICS: Lyrics will be available through a QR code on the day.

TICKET PRICE : It is a priority of ours to ensure that community sessions are always accessible. So even though we have no funding to run this session, we will still go ahead and offer it for free. Having said that there will be a tip-jar in the space where you can contribute whatever you like to the running of the session.

KOR KWIR is Malta’s first queer community choir – led by queer people, for queer people and our ally community.

Musically led by Luke Saydon this choir is a unique safe space for people to come be who they want to be, feel warmly welcomed and express themselves through the joy of music. Everyone can join KOR KWIR. It is a non-audition choir.

KOR KWIR's first season culminated in a world-class performance as part of EuroPride Valletta 2023.

Keep your eyes peeled on here or our socials for when KOR KWIR opens its doors for its next season.

FAQs

Is this choir exclusive for queer-identifying people?

No, EVERYBODY can join this choir. We want to celebrate our community with all the allies who support our pride and our journey.

Unless you're homophobic or transphobic. In which case better join another choir.

Can I join if I have no musical experience?

Yes. A community choir means that there are no auditions to join and it is also tailored for everyone to enjoy the sessions equally. Therefore, we do not sing from music score but rather from lyrics.

How does it work?

We all get together at StoreRoom, grab a drink and socialise. Then we learn a brand new arrangement that has been tailored for the choir. Every session is a brand new arrangement of famous pop songs.

Do I need to attend every session?

You are definitely encouraged to do so. The choir is not mandatory. However, registers are taken every session. Therefore, if we are at full capacity and you have not attended multiple sessions, we would offer your place to another member keen to sing with us.
